Overview
Svaneti is the part of Georgia that stays with people longest: defensive stone towers built a thousand years ago, still standing in villages under 4,000-metre peaks. Over three days we drive up through the Enguri gorge to Mestia, visit the Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography, and continue by 4x4 to Ushguli beneath Mount Shkhara. There is time for the Koruldi Lakes viewpoint or the Chalaadi glacier walk if the weather is with us. Nights are spent in family-run guesthouses or hotels, booked as part of your package.
